About DaycareDesk

Why this tool exists

Most prospective home daycare operators start with a generic article, then bounce between state pages, county departments, and forum posts. DaycareDesk exists to make the first pass calmer. It does not replace state guidance. It helps you see the likely path, the biggest requirement buckets, and the official places to confirm before you commit money or timing.

Every summary is source-aware. That means the app shows the authority behind the summary, a direct source link, and an as-of date. If a rule changes later, the page should make that obvious instead of quietly pretending nothing moved.

What the tool will not do

DaycareDesk will never promise that a home setup is approved, legal, or complete based on a single intake form. Local zoning, landlord rules, HOA rules, and county fire or health requirements can still matter even when the state path looks clear.

What it is good for

Use it to reduce false starts. The tool helps you separate a likely home-daycare track from a likely center path, spot the requirement buckets that deserve attention first, and move into state verification with better questions.
